  • Awarded Lang Medal for standing First (all streams combined) at S.S.C. (Class X) Examinations.
  • Ranked Second in S.S.S.C. (Class XII) Examinations (all streams combined).
  • Awarded Maulana Tufail Medal for standing First at B.Sc. (Engg.) Examinations in Electronics and Communication.
  • Awarded University Gold Medal for standing First at B.Sc. (Engg.) Examinations (all branches combined).
  • Qualified All India Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-92) with 96.96 percentile in the year 1992.
  • Obtained a TOEFL score of 613 and a TWE score of 5.5 in tests taken on Dec. 12, 1997.
  • Won several prizes in national level debates and essay writing competitions (both in English and Urdu) during the student life.
  • Bagged the Best Paper Award for the paper "Neuro-Computing : An Overview" presented at the Seminar organized by the Students' Chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India) at A. M. U. Aligarh on Feb. 25, 1992.

  • Qualified for the Indian Government Scholarship worth Indian Rupees 6,000/ p.m. for a total duration of 3 years and 3 months under the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) to pursue doctoral studies at IIT Delhi, India, starting from July 1999.
